FAIRBANKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY POLICY:
STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS
The 1-to-1 Chromebook Program at Fairbanks Elementary School is designated to create a collaborative learning environment for all learners. This program supports students and teachers in implementing and enhancing content for student engagement and promoting the development of self-directed, responsible life-long learners and users.
- Students must have their assigned chromebook and laptop charger with them every day at school. This begins in TK with students being taught how to bring their chromebook each day and continues through 6th grade.
- Students are expected to charge their Chromebook at home so that it is fully charged when they arrive at school. This will ensure it is ready for a full day of school.
- Students will safely carry their assigned Chromebook to and from school in a case and a backpack.
- Students will notify their teacher if they fail to bring their Chromebooks to school and be assigned a temporary chromebook to use for the day.
- Students will provide their device when requested by the teacher or site administration if a review of browsing history or status of the device is required.
- Students are responsible for keeping the assigned chromebook in good working condition. If the chromebook is not functional, the teacher must be notified as soon as possible.
If a Chromebook is lost or damaged, whether intentionally or through a student or family’s lack of care, students or parents/guardians shall be financially responsible for the current replacement cost of the Chromebook (TWIN RIVERS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT: STUDENT & FAMILY HANDBOOK SECTIONS 3.20, 3.21; BP 3260; BP 6161.2).
Any exception to this must be arranged in advance and approved by the principal or vice principal at the school.

Sites are required to issue fines for lost or damaged chromebooks in the same manner that they issue fines for textbooks.
Chromebook replacement costs range from $300 for a new laptop to $25 for our oldest models. The cost for each chromebook is determined by the District’s materials circulation system.

El Programa de Chromebooks de 1-a-1 en la Escuela Fairbanks está diseñado para crear un ambiente de aprendizaje colaborativo para todos los alumnos. Este programa apoya a alumnos y maestros en la implementación y realización de contenido para el éxito estudiantil y la promoción del desarrollo de aprendices autodirigidos y responsables.
- Los alumnos necesitan traer sus computadoras asignadas y su cargador a la escuela todos los días. Esto comienza en TK y continuará hasta el 6º año.
- Los alumnos necesitan recargar sus computadoras en casa para que estén completamente al llegar a la escuela. Esto asegurará que estén listos para un día completo de uso.
- Los alumnos llevarán sus computadoras asignadas de casa a la escuela en su estuche protector dentro de sus mochilas.
- Los alumnos les informarán a sus maestros si no logran traer su computadora chromebook a la escuela y se les asignará una computadora temporal para usar por el día.
- Los alumnos entregarán su computadora a su maestro o a la administración escolar para revisar la historia de uso o el estado de la computadora si es necesario.
- Los alumnos serán responsables en mantener sus computadoras funcionando y en buena condición. Si no funciona la computadora, se le tiene que informar al maestro lo más pronto posible. (Video - Cómo Cuidar Su Computadora).
Si una computadora chromebook se pierde o se daña, sea intencional o por falta de cuidado de la familia, alumnos o padres serán financieramente responsable por el costo de reemplazo actual de la computadora chromebook (TWIN RIVERS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT: STUDENT & FAMILY HANDBOOK SECTIONS 3.20, 3.21; BP 3260; BP 6161.2).
Cualquier excepción tendrá que ser un acuerdo aprobado de antemano con la dirección o subdirección de la escuela.

Escuelas están obligadas multar para computadoras perdidas o dañadas igual como se multa para libros escolares,
El costo de reemplazo de computadoras chromebook será entre $300 para una computadora nueva a $25 por un modelo más antiguo. El costo de cada chromebook es determinado por el sistema de circulación de materiales del Distrito.
